Okreblue Seaside Yoga Retreat Center in Paros, the most authentic Yoga Retreat Center in Greece, is the most ideal space for yoga retreats, yoga holidays and yoga teacher trainings. Okreblue Seaside Yoga Retreat Center in Paros is a passion that became reality for Angelo Malamatenios & Sasy Malamatenios-Chasomeri who run the center and actually stay at the premises all year round. Their love for nature, yoga and healthy living has been a way of life for them and, after many years of passionate and careful work , they are happy to share this simple & fulfilling lifestyle with their guests from all over the world. “What we do is who we are,” boasts Angelo who has actually grown up here at Filizi. He deals with ecological constructions, like the apartments & halls of Okreblue. Angelo also takes care of their organic garden and cooks delicious healthy meals at “Caretta” (Okreblue’s restaurant). “Respect to the environment, the body & soul is our way of life,” comments Sasy who is the hostess of the center and the main Yoga instructor with daily yoga classes and retreats all year round. In the tranquil atmosphere of the center and its surrounding nature, guests feel welcome and many return year after year describing Okreblue as “a home away from home”.

Okreblue is located at Filizi beach, an area of exceptional natural beauty, with sand dunes, aged cedar forests, “secret” coves with sandy beach and clear waters, next to the long sandy beach of Santa Maria. Years ago, Angelos’ parents, Vangelis & Eleni Malamatenios, built the first small accommodation unit of Okreblue (the “front” building), even before electricity came to the area! Windsurfers from abroad fell in love with the place and stayed at Okreblue – using candles and having the stars and the moon to light their nights. These old customers continue coming every year to windsurf at Santa Maria, now renting bigger apartments to accommodate their family! When Angelo started dealing with ecological constructions, he carefully designed the “back” building with materials friendly to the environment, making sure that all modern amenities are offered and at the same time, the place is kept natural & quiet. Later on, Angelo and Sasy, created Caretta restaurant and the 2 outdoor halls, carefully designed to meet the highest standards for movement classes, always using eco-friendly materials. Nowadays, Angelo & his wife Sasy have their year-round house here at Okreblue, a few meters behind the apartments, so that they can really take care of their guests throughout the day.

This outdoor yoga hall is situated in a beautiful “secret” area of the Okreblue Seaside Retreat Center. Named after the ancient Greek goddess Artemis, protector of the forest and hunting, it is surrounded by wild cedars and it is accessed via a small path – giving the place a magical and tranquil atmosphere, with positive energy. Serene and inspiring, Artemis Hall is perfect for meditation, yoga practice, Tai Chi, Qi Gung, massage therapies and other group seminars, workshops and retreats. Artemis Hall is a 100m² platform with wooden deck, wooden roof and bamboo walls, offering full privacy. The hall is cool and well shaded – an ideal spot for the hot Greek Island summer.

Da Vinci, the larger of the 2 outdoor halls, is another eco-friendly structure at Okreblue Seaside Retreat Center.

This hall is about 170m² and takes its name after Leonardo Da Vinci’s first airplane design, which inspired the roof design. The wooden floor utilizes car tires as the foundation, which gives the floor a slight elasticity and a perfect connection with earth.

The walls of the hall are made of hay and earth and the roof is covered with seaweed for better isolation, a technique used for centuries on the island of Paros. This green construction offers a pleasant temperature, both in summer and also in winter; the hall also has heating for the off-season, colder days.

Da Vinci Hall is ideal for yoga practice, martial arts, dance, movement and all kinds of seminars and workshops, all year round.
